Colombian Ocamonte

From Asociación Pequeños Caficultores de Ocamonte (APCO), which comprises 270 families from Ocamonte, a town in the state of Santander. They are mid-transition to fully organic coffee production, which is a challenging process, as the higher prices paid for organic coffee don’t reflect the greater investment (in time and money) required to achieve certification or maintain organic practices. Fairtrade Social Premium Usage

General public building including three bridges and a school (as well as other education resources), construction of drying patio and wet processing facilities for coffee makers. These community projects (excluding the bridges) have been matched dollar for dollar by the local municipal authorities.
