October coffee of the month - Honduras Natural

Our October Coffee of the Month, Honduras Natural, comes from the co-op COMSA in Marcala, Honduras. COMSA is known for both its quality coffee and its business values, which include gender equity and working in harmony with nature. One of its aims is to help improve the living conditions of its members and their families, the majority of which are indigenous Lenca peoples.

Many of COMSA’s traditional agricultural techniques have been maintained in their approach to modern-day agriculture. This has resulted in one of the most carefully crafted organic production systems amongst coffee-producing co-ops in Central America. COMSA is a leader in promoting organic agriculture and plays a key role in training and educating other fair trade and organic-producing co-ops.
